IN RELATION TO the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic Online Service  

1.       Definitions

1.1.      “the Proprietor” means the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic.

1.2.      “the Website” means lawclinic.org.uk or any sub-domain thereof.

2.       Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

2.1.      By accessing and using the Website you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and these terms shall take effect immediately upon your first use of the Website.  If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions you should not use or access the Website.

2.2.      These terms and conditions may be changed at any time and without prior notice.  You should check these terms and conditions regularly for updates and your continued use will deemed to be an acceptance of the revised or amended terms.  If you do not agree with any changes you should cease using or accessing the Website immediately.

3.       Intellectual Property

3.1.      Except as may be explicitly stated all intellectual property in the Website or any of its content including but not limited to all copyright, trade marks and names, service marks, text, graphics, branding, themes and website design are the property of or licensed to the Proprietor or are otherwise used lawfully and with authority.

3.2.      You agree and acknowledge that in accessing the Website you do so only for your own personal use and benefit.

3.3       You agree and acknowledge that none of the content contained on the Website may be downloaded, copied, reverse engineered, sold, broadcast, distributed or used for any commercial purpose.

4.       Content and Contributions

4.1.      The Proprietor may change or remove the Website or its content or any part thereof without prior notice and no liability is accepted to you for any such changes.

4.2.      The content on the website is provided for general information only.   It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely.   You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our site.   Although we make all reasonable efforts to update the information on our site, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our site is accurate, complete or up-to-date.

5.       Legal Documents

5.1.      All Court and Government Forms hosted on this website are Crown Copyright.  They are hosted for reference and for download free of charge.

a)       Under the terms of the copyright waiver on government forms as set out in the 1999 White Paper “Future Management of Crown Copyright” and as advised by the Office of Public Sector Information; OR

b)      With the permission of the relevant government agency or officer.

5.2.      The Proprietor makes every endeavour to ensure that all Court and Government Forms hosted on this website are kept up to date, but cannot guarantee that the documents are the latest versions.

5.3.      All template legal documents or any other information or documents offered for download on the Website are offered on the following terms, which you are deemed to accept when you view, access, download or otherwise make use of any aforementioned legal document:

a)       Template legal documents are for the purposes of information and reference only.  They do not constitute legal advice and it is not intended that you should rely on them;

8.       Jurisdiction and Severability

8.1.      All clauses, sub-clauses and parts thereof shall be severable and shall be read and construed independently.  Should any part of these terms and conditions be found invalid this will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision or of these terms and conditions as a whole.

8.2.      These terms and conditions shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with Scottish law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

9.2       This website is provided to help you  access helpful information and to do this we must obtain certain information from you about you.
